sweet time with the professor yesterday morning….he is a man with wisdom, courage, intentionality, and supreme humility–everything that makes him so strategically placed in that setting. Terry and Lott were both able to be “in the dock” for the Lord as it relates to the need of a moral compass in economic considerations. Globalization was the topic of the lecture and both of them were able to establish rapport and credibility (so it seemed, many Japanese students are rather brazen about sleeping conspicuously in class) in their knowledge of economic trends, and then speak of their faith in Christ as what shapes their ideas about economic responsibility–all that through a very natural question-and-answer format the professor worked into his lecture! The text in Matthew 10:19 showed itself applicable: “do not be anxious about what to say, for in that hour He will give you the words.” In succinct and clear terms, the two of them were able to lay out a very simple idea: with economic considerations desperate for a moral framework, lest pure revenue becomes the sole pursuit of nations and corporations, faith in Christ provides a rather counter-cultural shaping to market economies.
all that and a bag of chips. not a bad morning. thanks for praying

Wow! God is so faithful.
Ps 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.”
Everytime I think what is going to happen???…He speaks to me in some way…He is truly awesome. We will continue to pray.
Take care of yourselves. I miss you Amy, but the Lord has you right where he wants you.
Love, Patty (Amy’s mom)
sounds like this year’s lecture went much better than last year’s….although I did enjoy an economics lesson in Japanese…..in fact I think I understood it better in Japanese…..
Praise the Lord for this Christian professor!!!
I seem to remember Cindy joining some of those brazen Japanese in their slumber during last year’s lecture! The professor is fantastic…smart, brave, and a true heart to see students won for Christ. Come to think of it, we need him here!
It’s coming to an end all too soon. Can’t wait to see pics and hear the stories firsthand. Give our love to everyone there. I’ll be praying for a fruitful last day.

would any of the kind souls meeting us at the airport be willing to also drive me home to Oak Cliff? We arrive right around bedtime for the kiddos so my wife will be out of pocket
When you think of Japan, what comes up to your mind? There might be “Sony” and “Toyota” or “Samurai” and “Geisha.” You might consider that the former ones represent the modern Japan and the later ones represent the past. However, the real Japan is not such simple and contains the both aspects togeth…
